Laboratory measurement technique for microwave electromagnetic properties of rock
Electromagnetic properties of rock and soil is very important for precise interpretation of measured data. For instance, without the knowledge of EM wave velocity, we cannot re-construct the geometrical configuration of the radar target from measured radar signal.
For the measurement of the electromagnetic properties of cored rock sample, we have developed a network-analyzer based coaxial-line technique. Also, TDR technique is used for in-situ determination of the dielectric constant of soil. |
